Christmas.
A
time
of
year
when
we
celebrate
the
birth
of
our
Lord
and
Savior,
Jesus
Christ,
with
presents,
music,
laughter,
joy,
family
and
friends.
For
clients
of
the
Christian
Service
Center,
however,
this
time
of
year
isn't
so
joyous.
Christmas
is
just
another
day
of
the
year.
But
as
we
all
know,
it's
much
more
than
that!
Making
sure
our
clients
know
they
are
prayed
for,
cared
for
and
loved
is
a
remarkable
group
of
women
who
for
22
years
have
dedicated
themselves
to
making
the
Christmas
season
a
little
brighter
for
those
clients
in
our
Orlando
Daily
Bread
program.
Since
1976,
the
Council
of
Catholic
Women
from
St.
Mary
Magdalen
Church
have
served
Daily
Bread
the
first
week
of
December.
But
they
do
more
than
serve.
So
very
much
more!
This
group
of
350
women
bring
two
Christmas
trees
each
year
and
"trim
the
tree"
before
our
clients
arrive
for
lunch.
They
conduct
a
prayer
service
each
day.
They
bring
with
them
extra
food
and
goodies
for
the
clients.
And
for
every
year
they
have
served,
they
have
brought
hundreds
of
Christmas
Cards,
stamps
and
envelopes
with
them
for
the
clients
to
sign
and
send
to
loved
ones.
Coordinating
this
annual
event
is
Council
member
Rosalie
Winkelman.
"The
women
in
our
group
really
look
forward
to
our
project
with
Orlando
Daily
Bread.
It
is
meaningful
for
us
to
be
able
to
do
something
for
those
who
cannot
do
for
themselves."
Serving
the
weeks
of
Christmas
and
New
Year's
is
St.
Andrews
Catholic
Church,
who
like
St.
Mary
Magdalen,
have
served
at
this
time
of
year
since
1976
-
22
years!!!
More
than
300
churches
and
organizations
and
countless
individuals
and
families
are
committed
to
sharing
their
Christmas
spirit
through
giving
and
investing
in
the
lives
of
our
neighbors
through
the
Christian
Service
Center.
We
are
thankful
for
our
"family
of
angels"
who
offer
their
love
and
lives
throughout
the
year.
Christmas.
It
really
is
all
about
giving.
A
Special
Thanks
| ... to local businesses and organizations who participated in V.I.V.A. week at Orlando Daily Bread.
Very
Important Volunteers in
Action brought over 100 new faces to the Center's noon-time feeding program. Going beyond ordinary measures to promote employee participation, Doubletree Guest Suites General Manager Louis Robbins dressed as a chicken and locked himself in a cage in the hotel's lobby ... we heard he was eggceptional!!! |

- Smith Barney
- First Presbyterian Church of Maitland -Youth Group
- Gurney & Handley, P.A.
- Zimmerman. Shuffield, Kiser & Sutcliffe, P.A.
