Fresh
Start
graduate,
Eddie,
has
turned
his
life
around.
With
a
new
found
faith
in
Jesus
and
the
help
of
the
Center's
staff,
Eddie
overcame
drug
addiction
and
thoughts
of
suicide.
It
began
a
few
years
ago
when
Eddie
lost
his
job
in
Tampa
and
decided
to
move
to
Orlando
to
find
employment.
Not
knowing
anyone
in
town,
Eddie
stayed
at
a
local
shelter
for
several
months.
He
was
working
part-time
and
doing
some
free-lance
work,
but
was
still
not
making
enough
money
to
live
on
his
own.
Besides,
Eddie
thought
he
needed
the
extra
money
to
support
a
drug
addiction.
Eddie
left
the
shelter
and
began
living
out
of
his
car,
sleeping
in
empty
parking
lots
around
town
each
evening.
He
kept
an
iron
and
ironing
board
in
his
car,
and
each
morning
would
find
a
local
rest
area
off
1-4
to
press
his
clothes
for
work.
However,
Eddie
was
heading
towards
rock-bottom.
In
addition
to
the
drugs,
he
was
having
thoughts
of
ending
his
life.
|
"..
faith
has
helped
me
stick
it
out.." |
One
day,
while
working
for
Orange
County
Government,
Eddie
heard
about the
Fresh
Start
program.
He
came
to
the
Center
to
inquire
about
residency.
The
case
worker
informed
Eddie
that
he
had
to
be
drug
free
to
stay
in
the
program.
Knowing
this
would
be
a
difficult
challenge,
he
accepted.
Eddie
was
ready
to
begin
the
battle
of
changing
his
live.
"It
was
a
struggle,
but
I
kept
getting
up
each
morning.
I
kept
trusting
the
Lord,"
says
Eddie,
whose
faith
was
restored
during
his
14-month
stay
at
Fresh
Start.
Eddie
knew
that
a
higher
power
believed
in
him
more
than
he
believed
in
himself
and
that
was
his
strength.
"In
addition,
the
staff
at
Fresh
Start
stayed
with
me
during
the
worst
times-they
kept
me
going,"
says
Eddie.
Today,
Eddie
is
drug-free
and
has
a
successful
career
with
Orange
County.
He
is
a
member
of
a
local
church
and
says
"faith
has
helped
me
stick
it
out."
In
his
spare
time,
he
sings
in
the
choir
and
volunteers
with
the
children.
"If
I
can
help
open
doors
for
others,
like
doors
have
been
opened
for
me,
then
I
have
done
good." |
Touching
Lives
Program
Dear
CSC
Supporter,
For
29
years,
the
Christian
Service
Center
has
relied
on
individuals
like
yourself
to
support
our
seven
ministries.
Without
your
financial
support,
we
would
not
be
here
today.
Whether
we
are
feeding
the
hungry,
providing
assistance
to
at-risk
families,
tutoring
and
mentoring
underachieving
youth,
or
providing
care
for
the
elderly,
we
touch
many
and
offer
hope
and
help
for
the
future.
As
the
number
of
those
we
serve
continues
to
expand,
our
programs
must
continue
to
grow.
Please
consider
your
support
of
our
Touching
Lives

$100
or
more
each

to
the
work
of
the
Christian
Service
Center.
Through
your
contribution,
we
can
meet
the
growing
demands
of
our
clients.
The
Christian
Service
Center
began
with
one
goal
in
mind-to
serve
those
in
need-and
we
continue
to
meet
that
goal
today.
Please
print
out
th
pledge
card
below,
complete
it
and
return
it to
the
Center.
For
29
years
those
in
need
have
been
counting
on
us.
Thank
you
for
letting
us
count
on
you.
Yours
in

Daily Bread News
Thank you CFHMA: Over the past several years, many of our area hotels and motels have dedicated their time and employees to helping us serve Daily Bread in Downtown Orlando. The Central Florida Hotel-Motel Association (CFHMA) coordinates the project and approximately 25 local hotels & motels have volunteered with us during May and June.
Thank you to all who responded to a call in our last newsletter for new chairs in Daily Bread. One hundred twenty-five (125) new chairs have been delivered!

| Dear Christian Service Center,
Thank you very much for providing Sunday morning worship services for the Walt Disney Resorts! We were on vacation in, the Resort from Colorado & were very happy to find there were services on the Resort. Since we were staying at a nearby Resort Hotel, it was very convenient to get transportation to the Polynesian. We so much enjoyed the opportunity to worship with fellow Christians from various parts of the nation & at such a unique location! It was another wonderful memory from our vacation & God blessed us through the morning service.
Thank you for your hotel ministry may God continue to bless your efforts.
Take care & God Bless
Mike & Susan Albright
