The West Orange Junior Service League (WOJSL) consists of a compassionate group of women who have a heart for service and a dedication to the community that they call home. Founded in 1936, the WOJSL exists to serve the West Orange community through various service projects, volunteer initiatives, and fundraising events. WOJSL members strive to give the community they live in assistance, companionship, education, funding, and to some – a chance at a brighter future through one of four scholarships awarded annually to attend Valencia Community College.

WOJSL membership is comprised of 151 dedicated ladies who provide volunteer services at various places and causes throughout West Orange, including Daily Bread in Ocoee. Their members look forward to helping Gloria and Rosemary provide the homeless and those less fortunate with a hearty meal. Sonya Adams, president of WOJSL, said, "It has been a great honor and pleasure to have our league supporting the Daily Bread, as we've done for many years. Our ladies get great joy in working with the many other volunteers who are committed to serving our community. As Helen Keller once said, 'Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.'"

WOJSL ladies are very active in the West Orange community, not only volunteering but also fundraising. Each year the WOJSL sponsors several fundraising events that collectively bring in as much as $59,000. These events include the Jingle Jolly Jog 5K, the Winter Garden Christmas Golf Parade, Light Up Winter Garden with Love Luminary event, and the Derby inspired Run for the Roses. Monies raised through sponsorships and donations from these events, as well as from longtime league supporters, are dispersed annually to provide funds to sponsor local nonprofits that also encourages a sense of pride and spirit in the West Orange community.

By enhancing the neighborhood that they live, work, and play in, WOJSL members are improving their families' lives, too. Interested in learning more about WOJSL? Please check out their website at www.WOJSL.com.
