In Oct. 2019, the much-needed renovations to Downtown Daily Bread's restrooms were finished resulting in four separate restrooms, added storage space and a Kitchen Manager's office.
We are grateful for the funding support from our friends at Dr. Phillips Charities, Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, Heart of Florida United Way, Universal Orlando, and all of the contributing organizations and individuals who made this project a reality. For more photos and info, visit the Restroom Renovation Project page on our website.
A longtime supporter of the Christian Service Center, Dr. Phillips Charities pledged a two-for-one matching grant of $60,000 for renovations needed to upgrade Daily Bread’s restrooms to offer more accessibility, privacy, and security for our downtown clients.
For years, Daily Bread downtown’s public restrooms were an inconvenient and ill-equipped space for our thousands of clients. The restrooms’ original design frankly wasn’t built for use in a commercial restaurant.
The Dr. Phillips name has been a major economic and philanthropic presence in the Central Florida community since the turn of the 20th century. Dr. Phillips Charities honors the legacy of the Phillips family and its support of organizations that live up to the motto "to help others help themselves." To learn more, visit DrPhillips.org.
