Community Call to Action: Coalition for the Homeless Services Disrupted

More than 200 guests staying at the Coalition for the Homeless were recently displaced due to an unexpected fire in the men’s shelter that occurred on Wednesday, February 7th. As of early March, their men’s shelter remains closed, along with their kitchen and dining facility—temporarily disrupting many of the Coalition’s programs and services.

Homeless service providers in our community have stepped up to help—displaced residents have been staying at shelters provided by Orlando Union Recue Mission, Salvation Army Orlando, and All Saints Church, but the need for support considering this unexpected crisis is ongoing. The Coalition is currently asking for financial donations as well as pillows, blankets, jackets, socks, and other warm clothing for the men. The organization is also seeking donations of nonperishable foods and bag lunches.
