As summer temperatures soar in Central Florida, the Christian Service Center is once again operating a vital cooling center for our unhoused neighbors. When the heat index reaches 103 degrees or higher, we welcome people indoors to rest, rehydrate, and cool down with fans, cold water, and ice. On the hottest days, we serve close to 400 people seeking relief.

Extreme heat is more than uncomfortable. For those living on the streets, especially with chronic health conditions, it can be deadly. We are already seeing record-breaking temperatures and an increase in heat-related illnesses.

You can help by donating items for our Summer Survival Kits: flip flops, sunscreen, electrolyte packets, insulated water bottles, hats, and cooling towels.

Donations may be dropped off at our Parramore Campus Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn more at christianservicecenter.org.

This initiative to Help Us Beat the Heat is inspiring and shows how small actions can make a big difference in our communities. Just like choosing the best embroidery digitizing services ensures precision and quality in custom designs, every effort counts when it comes to tackling environmental challenges. Whether it’s donating, volunteering, or spreading awareness, contributing to this cause helps protect vulnerable populations during extreme heat. Quality and attention to detail matter, whether in embroidery or in social impact projects. Let’s support this campaign wholeheartedly and make a lasting difference together!
