For Becky, volunteering at the Christian Service Center is a natural extension of a lifetime spent serving others.

Becky and her husband Shannon have lived in Clermont, Florida for more than 30 years, raising three sons who now have families of their own. Today, Becky enjoys visiting her grandchildren, who range in age from six months to seventeen years old.

Before retiring in 2019, Becky spent years advocating for others in her community. She served as an elected member of the Lake County School Board from 2002 to 2006 and dedicated more than a decade to the Guardian ad Litem Program, eventually becoming a Child Advocacy Manager supporting children and families across the region.

Shortly after retiring, Becky began volunteering at the Christian Service Center through her church, Oakland Presbyterian Church. What began as a once-a-month opportunity quickly grew into a deeper commitment.

Becky primarily serves in the kitchen, helping prepare and organize meals for the hundreds of guests who come to CSC each day. While much of her work takes place behind the scenes, she especially values opportunities to connect with those being served.

Her passion for this work is deeply personal, shaped by watching a close family member struggle with homelessness and addiction.

As Becky says, “You never know who might walk through the door and whose life you might be able to impact in a positive way.”

Great article. I always appreciate simple digital tools that improve productivity. An instagram reel downloader  has become one of those tools for me because it helps me keep useful content in one place.
