On August 15, the second event of our 2024 conference series was held in the upstairs community room at our Downtown Campus. Community leaders joined us to lead discussions on a range of topics, including a presentation on state perspectives toward legal issues surrounding homelessness led by State Attorney Andrew Bain. Kristen Anderson with the Southern Poverty Law Center joined us to give an overview of implications from the federal level concerning the case of Grants Pass v. Johnson. Dr. Andrew Sullivan from the University of Central Florida gave a compelling presentation on Local Ordinance Violations Among Transient Populations. Dr. Joel Hunter with Action Church and Dr. David Swanson from First Presbyterian Church of Orlando led a panel discussing how to manage safety, service, and compassion at institutions of faith.

We look forward to future mini conferences on a range of relevant topics, particularly those affecting the most vulnerable in Central Florida. Be sure to join our e-mail list and follow us on social media for future announcements.
