The Barber Academy of Orlando recently started coming to our Downtown campus every other Tuesday from 10am-2pm to provide haircuts for our neighbors in need. Run by Gus Velez and his wife Lee Velez, the Barber Academy is a barber school attached to their barbershop Mad Barbers located at 9421 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Suite 10-12, Orlando, FL 32837.
Students in the academy must complete a total of 1,200 hours of cutting hair before completing the course. Gus loves that by coming to the Christian Service Center, his students are able to get hours and experience while also helping their community.
